TBRI® Caregiver Training

Equipping Caregivers to Support
Healing and Connection

Unlock the power to transform lives!

Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is a trauma-informed and evidence-based approach designed to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other forms of adversity. This training equips caregivers with practical tools to build trust, strengthen relationships, and create environments where children can heal and thrive.

At Koinonia Family Services, TBRI® is a core part of how we support and equip our resource parents to care for youth with complex needs. Through this approach, caregivers gain meaningful insight and strategies that foster connection, resilience, and long-term stability.

Through TBRI® training, caregivers learn to:

  • Connect: Build trust through attuned, responsive relationships that help youth feel safe and understood
  • Empower: Support physical and emotional needs to reduce stress and promote regulation
  • Correct: Teach appropriate behaviors in ways that are respectful, consistent, and effective

These principles work together to help caregivers better understand the impact of trauma, respond to challenging behaviors with confidence and compassion, and create environments where youth can grow and thrive.
