Preadolescent Day Treatment

Intensive therapeutic services in a day treatment setting for children, 6 to 13, who have experienced trauma or abuse and may be acting out sexually.

The primary treatment focus is to assist children to develop effective life strategies and safe, reciprocal relationships with others. Therapeutic topics include, but are not limited to, trauma recovery, victim awareness, safety, appropriate boundaries, mood regulation, triggers identification, healthy attachments, cycles of negative behaviors, and relapse prevention.

Services include individual, group, milieu, and family therapy. In addition, each child is eligible to receive behavioral management services, basic skills training, and/or psychosocial rehabilitation services, as needed, both within the milieu and during transitions. Family therapy includes reunification services or alternative placement services in accordance with each child’s individual treatment plan. Our client/staff ratio averages 3-4:1. Due to the level of one-on-one services provided, children generally demonstrate significant, measurable improvement at home, at school and in the community.

Our program provides education within a Nevada State Licensed Private School environment with an individualized education plan for each child. Transportation is provided daily to and from the program. Parents may have to meet the Day Treatment vans at prearranged drop-off points close to their homes. This program is under the direction and supervision of Jessica Goicoechea-Parise, MFT, NCC.
